We are excited to announce that this year the PTO will be sponsoring a Barbeque for Back-To-School Night! You are invited to join us on Tuesday, August 27th from 5:30-7pm. This is a great opportunity to bring in school supplies, chat with teachers, and drop off paperwork or lunch money in the office. We look forward to seeing you!
School begins Wednesday, August 28th at 8:00 a.m. The school building opens for students at 7:30 a.m., classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and dismisses at 2:30 p.m. School is dismissed at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
School Breakfast/Lunch Program
Breakfast and lunch will be served beginning the first day of school. Menus are available on our website or in the school office. Menus for September will also be sent home with students after school begins.
Breakfast and Lunch Prices
Our meal prices will increase this year to comply with the federal mandate.
Meals and milk priced as follows:
|Full Price||Reduced Price||Free|
|Lunch||$2.85||$.40 4th-8th grade, free K-3rd grade||Free|
|Milk (ala carte)||$0.50||$0.50||$0.50|
Milk is included at no charge with school meals. Skamania School does not have a free ala carte milk program. Students eligible for free or reduced meals must purchase milk at the regular price of $0.50 if they bring a cold lunch and want a milk with their lunch.
Lunch and breakfast may be purchased by the day, or money can be deposited into a family account and used as needed. Students may not “charge” lunch or breakfast, as it is not allowed under state law.
Parents, grandparents, or other family members are welcome to have breakfast or lunch with their children. To make planning in the kitchen easier, please call the office ahead of time if you plan to come for breakfast or lunch. The price of an adult breakfast is $3.25 and an adult lunch is $3.50.
Free and reduced price lunch/breakfast applications and a letter to parents regarding the program is included in this packet. If you’d like to apply, please fill out the application and turn it in before August 28th.
Student school supply lists are enclosed with this letter. Supply lists are also available on the school’s website, skamaniaschooldistrict.org. If your family needs assistance with providing supplies, please contact the school office. We have several organizations that donate school supplies for students.
Students should be up to date on their immunizations. If you have any questions regarding immunizations, contact the school office or the local health department at 509-427-3870.
Morning bus schedules will be available on our website by August 23rd. You can also call the school office for bus route information.
Additional Parent Forms, Permissions & Information
Families received a welcome packet which includes additional forms we need to have returned to school. This includes free and reduced lunch information and application, student health inventories, updated emergency contact information, and internet access permission forms. Your cooperation in filling out and returning all the paperwork is greatly appreciated.
Please contact the school office whenever you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s educational experience. Our student’s safety, comfort and academic achievements are very important!
