Dear Skamania Parents/Guardians,

I hope that each of you are well and safe during this challenging time. Thank you for doing your part in preventing this virus from spreading. I am confident that if we do our part and take this seriously that this pandemic will be beaten. As we move ahead during this school closure, here are some information items.

Supporting home enriched education:

We are here to support you in learning opportunities for your child(ren) while at home. We have mailed your child’s report card and learning plan for the second term. These two reports may help as you are planning for additional home activities. Each teacher has sent home learning packets. If you have not been notified by a staff member, it is possible we don’t have your current contact information. Please call the school to update this information. They will also contact you to schedule a parent conference. During the conferences would be a good time to review home learning ideas and answer questions about your child’s progress. Finally, we are exploring the possibility of adding links to our website with suggested learning opportunities.

Free meal program:

We are providing free lunch/breakfast meals for children under age 18. Please call the office to order at 509-427-8239. Meals are delivered from 10-1 :00 PM to designated bus stops or can be picked up in the office. We will provide food programs during spring break to support you in this challenging time.

Contacting us:

We have a limited number of staff working at school providing some essential functions, such as the meal delivery program. Therefore, it is best to call the office before stopping by to pick up meals or student work. Future updates will be given through letters, the messenger program, our website at skamaniaschooldistrict.org. and/or on the PTO Facebook. Take care of yourself and let us know if you need anything.

All the best,
Dr. Ralph Pruitt, Superintendent/Principal
