Superintendent News
Katie Chavarria
Mrs. Chavarria is stepping into the role of superintendent/principal for the upcoming 2025-26 school year, having previously served as the principal at Skamania School. With 16 years of experience in education, including five years at Skamania, she sincerely regards this as a place she deeply cherishes. One of the things she loves most about the school is the strong sense of community. Every staff member knows every student by name, and the family-like atmosphere makes Skamania truly special.
She and her husband have three wonderful children who keep their home lively and full of energy. When she is not at school, she can usually be found on the baseball or softball field, cheering on one of her children or spending time outdoors with her family.
Her philosophy of education centers on the belief that every child deserves a nurturing and supportive environment where they can thrive. She is committed to fostering a love for learning, encouraging curiosity, and helping each student discover their unique strengths. She believes education should be a collaborative journey, where educators, families, and the community work together to support students’ growth and development. She looks forward to continuing to support and nurture students in every way she can.
